Wow! What a busy time in our lives right now! It goes so fast, but I love it!
I just wrapped up Denison's Fall Festival this past weekend and it was a wonderful day full of pancakes and corn dogs and kettle korn. You can tell what our family does for entertainment! The weather was perfect and my sister and her family made the trip from Wise County to be there! Thanks Sister!
Robert is smack dab in the middle of football season and the Jackets are 5-0! This week is Homecoming in Denison. The homecoming parade with all our queen candidates and sweethearts is Thursday in Downtown and then the game Friday night, where they will crown the queen. Saturday is Robert's 10 year class reunion and I am sure there will be lots of Jacket football of years gone by to be discussed! With all these festivites you can bet Landry will be decked out in her Yellow Jacket garb!
Speaking of Landry, she is such a hoot lately! My neighbor pointed out the other day what a great auditory vocabulary she has. Landry basically understands what I ask her to do.
Shut the door, sit down, throw this away....etc.
Depending on her mood, she may or may not obey. HA! She is learning more words on a daily basis and she is finally interested in books! Her favorite is a counting book. It has pictures of things she recognizes and she loves to turn to them and tell me what they are. Her favorites are ball and fish.
She has learned to say please (pssss) and thank you (tank to) but she is as stingy with those as she is her kisses. Other words she has learned are Nandy, which is her name for our friend Andy, dog and nose.
Landry is obsessed with shoes. Mostly taking them off. She does like to find my or her daddy's shoes and try them on. She gets terribly frustrated when she can't walk in them, and she only tries to put them on her feet while she is standing up. If she has to sit down to put them on, it is a failure and her interest is lost.
Our girl has also turned into quite the climber. She loves to climb onto the couch, her highchair, or the rocking chairs in her room---in which we often find her standing.
Bath time is always a fun time for the girl. It inevitably calms her after a tired day. She also enjoys:
being outside
brushing her teeth
playing monster with daddy
unrolling the toilet paper
sneaking into our shower
opening and closing cabinets
pulling the grape jelly and barbeque sauce out of the refrigerator
and any type of device with buttons (radio, remote controls, computer, mouse, etc.)
She is the light of my life and I am so thankful on a daily basis that the Lord chose me to be her mommy. I love you Lucy!
Hope you all are having a delightful fall. Especially as the season of Thanksgiving draws near, I pray the Lord reminds you of all the blessings in your life.
